The SPIKY series boldly challenges the contemporary flat perspective of objects. It's characterized by a design that almost seems to defy being held, with its distinct and daring form. The protrusions spread across the vessel represent the inherent power within objects, visualized and made tactile. It's as if the hidden force within has burst forth, creating a dynamic and forceful expression on the surface. Ceramics, a traditional craft cultivated over a long history. Through this, Koga aims to introduce a sculptural twist, intending to surprise and delight those who pick up his pieces with a novel sense of wonder.
