Anti Progress & Harmony Hankyu Men's Osaka, 1F Main Stage / Osaka 2022
The artist Takahiro Koga, championing "Pottery for an Era of Upending Hierarchy," hosts a solo exhibition at Hankyu Men's Osaka on the 1F Main Stage. Koga has consistently pushed the boundaries by advocating for concepts like "Anti-Wabi-Sabi" and "Pottery for an Era of Upending Hierarchy." While he holds deep respect for traditional aesthetics, his work presents a counter-narrative to rigid cultural norms, challenging them head-on. In this exhibition, inspired by the 1970 Osaka Expo which was themed around "Progress and Harmony for Mankind," Koga unveils new works representing the polar opposite of that motif. Additionally, around 150 sake vessels are showcased.
