Get Stand Up LHP Harajuku / Tokyo 2021

Heralding the era of rebellious ceramics, we are thrilled to announce the solo exhibition of Takahiro Koga, the contemporary artist currently under the brightest spotlight. Hosted at "LHP Harajuku", renowned for its eclectic and keenly-tuned curation of fashion brands, the exhibition revolves around the three dynamic pillars: "New", "Change", and "Sharp". What emerges when the worlds of ceramics and fashion collide? Both domains have their inherent utilities—ceramics to be used and fashion to be worn. But beyond the tangible functions, both possess an emotional essence that resonates and uplifts the spirits of those who interact with them. Koga's creations weave in elements of street art and punk rock, not just as stylistic statements, but to challenge and reshape the conventions and values of those who use or wear them. Underlined by the subtitle "Get Stand Up", the exhibition embodies the spirit of rising again amidst the current pandemic, exemplified by the unveiling of his new Daruma pieces. The event will feature over 100 of Koga's new works for display and sale, accompanied by a fresh series that employs street art tagging. As a special highlight, we'll be introducing a limited-edition collaboration between Koga and the iconic American leatherwear brand, "SCHOTT"—a rider's jacket, available in two unique designs with only two pieces each for purchase. Come, witness the innovative union of ceramics and fashion like never before.
